CPI Expectations

March CPI (Consumer Price Index) steals the stage this week right before we go into earnings season. The pros expect CPI to rise by 0.3% from February’s mark which would bring our YoY Inflation rate down to 5.2%. Based on February’s report, used cars, trucks and medical care continued to decline faster than the rest of the sectors. This is quite obvious since they did spike very aggressively in 2022. The indices rising the most include shelter, recreation and airline fares.
